Do not attempt to read this book:1) In bed with somebody who is trying to sleep next to you or in bed if you have cats who try to sleep on top of you when you read3) Are in a public place. On a train, in a waiting room or at work? Forget it4) If you can not laugh at sex and or poopDo read this book if:1) You don't mind laughing out loud more than once (please note you may also have a few full on belly laughs, hence the reason the cats were not happy about me disturbing their sleep)2) You have a [...]

The first half had me laughing so hard! I actually laughed out loud on unsuitable places. The second half was still funny, but more "cute-funny".Oh, the world of dating!

A nice easy read. For the first few chapter the 'laugh out loud' tag line was spot on. As the book goes on its not so laugh out loud, but its likeable, and a nice easy read. I guess it would be described as an airport trash book.

I grabbed this book because it was cheap on . In the beginning I wasn't particularly engaged with the story but I'm glad I kept going. There were several points where I actually laughed out loud. I can't tell the last time a book has made me laugh out loud - in public no less! This is not literary genius and there are editing misses. However, this is a very entertaining read and a cute story. I will happily read the sequel.

Bloody brilliant. Perfect banter and inner dialogue. This book is written exactly how women and men (from what I've ascertained by asking) think. I was laughing out loud during every chapter and equally looked forward to hearing from Laura as I did Jamie! If you want a fun read then this is the book for you!

This book Where do I start? This book made me laugh SO hard! I laughed so hard, people around me in the DMV felt the need to move seats to get further away from me. It was that funny. I cried. Read it.

Jaimie and Laura record their separate adventures on the dating scene as they try to find someone they can spend their lives with. For singles in their late 20's, I think this hapless couple's feelings as they stagger gamefully on to the next disaster will probably stir some uncomfortable memoriesThe beginning is so obviously written by a man - it makes unfomfortable reading at times, rather than funny.Perhaps my discomfort is a woman thing. But when Laura and Jamie meet, it becomes hilarious an [...]

The problem with this is that it was incredibly crass, and did not have many redeeming qualities. The first two chapters, told by a man and a woman in their prospective journals, recounted two very depressing dating situations. In each, they got drunk and ended up having sex with someone that they regretted. I just couldn't continue.

Loved, loved, loved this book! It was rude, crude and hilarious (and oh so true regarding dating). I listened to the audio book and Napoleon Ryan was one of the best narrators I've heard (the female narrator was great as well). I spent $3.99 total for the book AND the audio book for my kindle (ebook is on sale for $2 right now and immersion reading is $1.99) and got many hours of laugh-out-loud enjoyment. This would be great to read, but if you have the opportunity to listen to the audio book, I [...]

OK, it was funny in parts and the fact that it was in effect chic lit written by a male author wasdifferent. I found the whole thing incredulous though - does this crap actually happen in real life?? Blah, definitely not my type of book.

When I heard about Nick Spalding’s novel Love From Both Sides, I was intrigued. Nick self-published the novel last year and it was then picked up by a traditional publisher in Hodder & Stoughton. Which is fabulous news for him, and I love hearing about self-published authors who then get a book deal with one of the big publishers. It speaks volumes about their work, and I had noticed Nick’s book before then, I just didn’t have any time at all for it. Which I now massively regret, actua [...]

After I read "Fat Chance" I logged into to immediately order all of Nick Spalding's books. However, I noticed that the ratings for his books weren't as good as I was expecting, so I thought I'd give one a try first before buying them all. This book is about two single people, Laura and Jamie, who are trying to find love but seem to find the weirdest single (and non-single) people out there. They briefly meet at a speed dating event and after meeting again both by and in an accident, it seems lik [...]

LoveFrom Both Sides is a book about the misguided attempts of Jaime Newman and Laura McIntrye to find love. Jaime tells his story through his blog and Laura through entries in her diary. This seemed like a light, funny read that wouldn't take itself too seriously but it didn't hit the mark for me. Neither character struck me as all that funny despite the potential for some good laughs. I also couldn't remotely identify with either character. Both seemed a bit over the top in different moments an [...]

having just purchased my kindle, I was looking through what books were available for free or at a low price, and came across this one. I dont usually go for books written by blokes but thought I would give it a go. Started reading it when the England match was on TV, and I was banished to the kitchen because I was laughing out loud so much that my husband couldnt concentrate on the commentary on the TV. Then in the kitchen, my son was watching something else and he also didnt appreciate my const [...]

This books sounded quite charming and just like what I wanted after reading a series of darker novels. Unfortunately, the weak smiles it elicited can be counted on one hand. Humor based on bodily functions (you can guess what I mean) really ought to be confined to C-list movies, if at all. Further, I found both characters inordinately shallow and quite self-obsessed, which made it difficult to want to connect with them. I will say, Spalding's idea of telling the stories of dating from the man's [...]

5 starsThis was the funniest book I've read all year; I found myself cackling like a hyena at least ten times within the first hour.Dual POVs that begin each chapter with "Jamie's blog" or "Dear Mom" but quickly go from telling to showing via flashbacks of their dating disasters. This might not be for everyone (extreme potty humor/crude jokes and language) but if stories about accidentally jizzing on pictures of biblical figures and women giving men pity handjobs don't turn you off, please read [...]

This book was a spontenious buy from the kindle shop. It was fairly cheap and had good reviews (I am a big fan on reviews). It takes only a day to read this book but my gosh It is a lot of fun to read. I enjoyed seeing Jamies blog and probably enjoyed it more than Laura's diary. They both said lines which made me laugh which for books is hard, I can smile but this book made me full on L O L. Its great for a summer read and want to check out more books from this author!
