Eigenlijk een zeer goed leerboek. Het krijgt geen hoger cijfer omdat het bedoeld is om vanaf nul te starten, maar ik vrees dat dit niet zou gelukt zijn. Ik heb de indruk dat het zeer volledig is. Tweede recensie na het uittesten van mijn kennis in Iran

You can learn some Farsi from this book, but I cannot recommend it very highly. I think it is a bad mistake for a textbook to have something like a chapter on adverbs, to introduce thirty in that chapter, then move on.Also it seems very questionable to me to delay introducing any systematic discussion of any verb other than 'be' to the second half of the book. There are various glitches with the exercises as well; it is really essential that if you are asked to translate back and forth than every [...]

This book is a joke. There was more english in Ms. Farzad's grammar book than there was Persian, some chapter in this will even be english only. the grammar variations explained in this book is not enough, imho. after finishing the last chapter only simple grammar notes were explained, when all other essential things r rushed at the appendix. the book is too easy, and in fact not many new things are learned, so it becomes less effective as a 'teach yourself' book.

I got this because I want to be able to read the script. I've just started. Thus far I've learned that ab means water and there are no capital letters in Persian.

Purchased in a fit of ambition. I never did more than practice the alphabet, but for someone with more time to devote to studying this may be a useful resource.
