I'm an idiot! Every time I tell myself that I'm not going to fall for interesting barbs, but I do anyway. The writing was awful! you probably wrote better in your school essay (I'm not trying to be cruel, But I finished the book for the sake of my reading challenge. Otherwise I would have thrown the book at the third chapter in. The characters were flat, had zero (probably negative) chemistry, the main character had no backbone and naive to the point of being childish, the hero was exceptionally [...]

So I did not mind the story but I unfortunately found the writing awkward and I had a hard time believing the relationship between Abby and Gray. I did not get the connection between the two. It had great potential with the story line but I felt it fell a bit flat. That being said though I liked it enough to read another book if it came out in a series.

Really cute story. Makes me think Abby could be me, and I might find my celeb boyfriend someday!

This will be an incomplete review because I only read 21% (according to the Kindle) and don't think I'll finish reading this one. You would think that with a book that I'm not planning on finishing, I would give it a 1-star review. However, it's not that I HATE the book, rather that there's nothing about it that makes me want to finish it.The writing is rather mediocre with characters that are dull. I've read 4 chapters and by this point, I should be fully invested in the main characters. But I' [...]

Congratulations to Meaghan Hoffmann on her debut novel! If this, her first novel, is any indication of the novels to come from this talented author, sign me up as a fan! I enjoyed the premiseall town girl meets major Hollywood movie star, sparks fly, love blooms, conflict tears them apartwill they live happily after after? The novel is an enjoyable read, and the characters are engaging. I especially liked the attention to detail incorporated into every scene. Being a writer myself, I find descri [...]

Hello everyone, Ms. Hopeless romantic here again with another review on a seriously sweet and sappy story. Overly sweet: probably. Plot line: cute but gag me (non realistic- they meet, quickly fall in love, get broken up due to misunderstanding, gets sorted out in the end: what does this remind you of? Basically every book ever written!)Depth of details and feeling: very shallow, it's like your watching a very bad movie with very bad acting, only it's a book. The characters were like fluff and re [...]

I devoured this book in just a few days. It was a fun read that kept me engaged and excited about finding out what was going to happen next. Being from the town the book was set in (and having just gone to Fish Day), I loved the references to local places and events. I also liked the description of the awards show and wondered if that's what they're really like.Unfortunately, I had to take off one star for the grammatical errors and typos I found in the book. I'm an editor, so I cringed a little [...]

This story started out really well. I loved the characters and the way the plot unfolded. I even laughed a few times and was almost brought to tears once. After that, it kind of lost its momentum. Not to say I didn't still enjoy it but a character was added that I really didn't see the need for and it wrapped up kind of abruptly, in my opinion. I would've liked to see the ending as well-developed as the first half of the story. I think the author has a terrific writing style and I will be checki [...]

It started with a good storyline, but at the ending was a bit weird. It felt like the writer had to rush things or had too many ideas for one story. My Life With The Movie Star is a book that you read, but after that you don't really think about it. You don't feel the pain/love with the (main) characters. I liked most of the storyline, but it's not a book that I'll read over and over again. It was a bit disapointing.

I've always tried to determine the quality of a book, movie or play by accepting what the author was attempting to convey. I found this book to be almost perfectly what this author was attempting to achieve. The narrative, characters, plot all are true to Mz. Hoffmanns desires. This should be a delightful read for anyone who enjoys this genre and we can only hope that she adds to our enjoyment in the future.

Okay, so this book had promise. I liked Abby, but toward the middle, I couldn't see what she saw in Gray. Plus, all the inconsistencies bothered me, like VMAs vs Movie Awards and Dave working for Channel 5, then Channel 12. Overall, I liked the story, but I felt like there could've been more to it.

Another cute, easy summer read. I devoured this in just a few hours. Great setting and world building. A few spelling and grammatical errors but I didnt buy this book to be a thinkerI got it to pass the time on a road trip and it served its purpose well.

2 and a 1/2 stars. While I liked the premise of the story, the dialogue seemed stiff and unnaturally proper. It just didn't flow as easily as some stories, but still liked it in the end, even though I saw a little bit of a Robert Pattinson/Edward Cullens fan fiction going on, lol.

    15. Ricci on said:

The storyline was great! Unfortunately the way it was written was terrible! The narrative was off and it was so plain and boring. It could have been written better but it a struggle just to get through the book. A shame really!

Pretty lameI just never really felt that the author was really invested in this book. I don't really even know why I finished the book I guess I was just hoping it would get better .

I enjoyed the story line, but felt that it kind of fizzled out. It started out with a great beginning and even a great middle, but I felt the ending kind of fizzled out. I would have liked to see a little more to it.

Overalls good story but I felt it was to short! I wanted more to happen and it was kind of predictable!

i got the story, but i didnt fall in love with any of the characters, they were just not believable. It felt like unfinished story to me, it needed something more.
